Intermittent Fasting

What is Intermittent Fasting?
Intermittent fasting is eating and fasting during defined specific periods of time, in order to improve health and general well being.

What are the Benefits?
The body heals itself, but when we eat, the body needs to spend time and energy to make that digestion and all the processes involved.

As we are constantly eating, the body doesn't have much time and energy to work and heal other areas in need. The only free time is during our sleep, that normally, is around 8h.
The Intermittent fasting allows our body to heal longer and  consequently improves health.

  • Extends lifespan
  • Helps lo lose and maintain weight
  • Promotes heart health
  • Slows ageing process
  • Boosts immune system
  • Increase celular repair
  • Reduces blood pressure
  • Improves blood sugar levels
  • Others

How does it Work?
We start by defining how many times we want to fast per week, the number of fasting hours and the times of the day.

The Intermittent fasting should be done for at least :

12h of fasting period - 12h of eating period
13h of fasting period - 11h of eating period
14h of fasting period 10h of eating period
15h of fasting period -   9h of eating period
16h of fasting period -   8h of eating period

For example: A 13- hour intermittent fast can be done by:

Waking up at 8h in the morning, having breakfast at 8:30h, a snack around 10:30h, then lunch at 13h, another snack at 16h and finally dinner at 19:30h. The eating period are 11 hours.
Then, the next meal will be in the next morning, at 8:30h again. What will make the 13h fasting period.

Each person chooses their own meals times, if it's going to be daily or maybe just twice a week.
Some prefer to skip breakfast, others prefer to have just three meals a day.
It entirely depends on each personal preferences and lifestyle.

The longer we fast, more benefits we get. The ideal would be to reach the daily 16 hours fasting. It can be done by starting with a 12 hours fasting to get used to it.
